Yesterday officials from the Ministry of Agriculture's NDIA and GLDA visited the Cookrite Savannah to conduct an assessment of flood-prone areas and cattle pastures. Their assessment revealed that there was no flooding in those areas. Irrigation channels are being utilized to ensure cattle and other small ruminants have water to drink due to the absence of water within the grazing pastures. As usual, the accumulated water in some parts of the Savannah is being drained in a controlled manner. Our regional officers will continue to monitor the areas. | Ministry of Agriculture - Guyana
